Mikael has yet again added some new influences to Opeth's sound. I must agree though, that I really didn't like Fredrik's solo, I hope that there's not much of shredding on the new album overall, because Opeth has always been about melodic solo's to me Damn I wish the new album would already be released!!! You're right, but I don't think the melodic part is going away. I don't mind some shred mixed in occasionally, but the melodic opeth sound is still there.. for example the outro to the song was very melodic, or Mikael's solo. It was amazing there, but not as good as some of the other songs they played.. But, the song is amazing, allthough I wasn't expecting such straight on metal song, but I'm really not complaining, this is an amazing song, and I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
