How do people feel about these? All hype and just a fad? Weird and never want one? One trick pony? Only useful for low tuning and extended range guitars?

As alot of you my know I'm currently working towards building guitars and its people like you guys that are my target kind of market.

I guess It would make a intresting option just wondering if this is more a a Djent kind of fanboy thing

Personally I think it's AMAZING as an idea and I want one!!! smile.gif once you get beyond 26.5 in scale length, the required string tension is a bit much imho. Reduces the expressiveness of the guitar imho. Multiscale necks allow lower strings to have the right tension but keep higher strings looser for better bending/vibrato/etc. smile.gif

Do you think you could build a multi? Let us know!

Here is killer guitar with 10 strings and a partially fretless neck.

building a multi is actually alot easier than you probably think but yeah I could build one. Pretty sure bareknuckle make multiscale pickups if you call them.

Should make it a option for my builds at least I think. I'm still currently working on designs, some of which I think you will love Todd

I can't wait to see what you build!!! For me personally, I've come to feel that the best way to do an 8 String Guitar is with Multi Scale. I've tried several 8 strings and all of them could really benefit from being shorter scale on top and longer scale on bottom!! Keep us posted!

I think it's a cool idea. But beyond better string tension on extended range guitars like Todd said. I don' t think its worth all the extra effort. I'm not an expert builder by any means, but I made a multiscale 8 string, and intonation and set up was a real pain. It is cool to play but from a builders point of view I don't think the advantages outweigh all the extra work. But that is just my opinion.
