Hello

I dialed in exaclty this tone:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsS2OjCyF98

I listen both with monitors, and headphones. I tried switching tone on guitar, tone knob and volume knob on guitar, different volumes. Nothing worked. I dunno really how to say in english, but a disturbing noice covers the whole sound.

Translation says:
NOISE
HUM
ROAR
SOUGH
MURMUR
RUSH
SWELL
WHISTLER

Well I have the pod close to my PC, PC is under my desktop and the POD is on it with the monitors. What can be the problem?

Could be your pickups!

Do you have single coil pickups? or humbuckers?

What output setting are you placing the pod on? I use an HD500 I set mine to studio it cuts down on a lot of noise and boosts the level a bit and then I just edit the EQ/Compression on the track itself.

maybe no need to activate the noise gate. Turn it up until the noise goes away.

It's typical that different environments and different equipment will cause different levels of noise so your own level of noise would not be the same as in the example tone.

Ive done everything he did, all settings on the pod, studio etc. Noise gate is turned on with the instructors settings.

Check how it sounds unplugging it from the laptop (don't connect using USB). Does it still make that sound?

Have you heard that sound before when connecting the POD through USB to the laptop?

I ask this because that happenned to me with an older laptop I had. It seems some laptops have a bad earthing problem in their USB ports, that is an issue when using PODs etc. Hope it's not the case.

Yeah, but turn it up to remove the noise. The instructor setting is useless for you. You have to use the noise gate to remove YOUR noise.
