Your songs definitely are a reflection of you personality. First check out Piotr's new lesson, "http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Instrumental-Rock-With-Melody-II/", and then post a reply to today's topic.
What does you music typically say about you?
( Personally I love aggressive and dark music but still I wouldn't describe myself with those attributes - in my case I think maybe my songs complement what my personality is lacking) )
Very interesing post
I'd say for me personally, it reflects the places I like to go in my head.. things I'm interested in.. just like a movie I guess Either that or it reflects my beliefs.. it has to be the truth as well. Nothing compromised or wasted
They say that I'm constantly learning. Typically they have a more happy than dark side.
I have yet to write my own stuff so I can't speak from that perspective, but actually thinking about what I usually play, I think it depends on my mood when I sit down and grab the guitar.
For the most part it's pretty easy going, relaxing happy stuff. But some days you just need to let off some steam so it tends to be a little more aggressive. My boyfriend just told me he knows the mood I'm in by if I go for my acoustic or my electric
rok
Mine is constantly played with a happy feel. My favorite scale is the major diatonic scale, and I love happy melodies. Major solos always caught my ear much more than minor solos.
Two of them that I always remember are the guitar solo in "No Rain" by Blind Melon and the solo in "Yellow Ledbetter" by Pearl Jam.
I love deep, dark and sad feelings in music. I also play a lot from the minor and blues scales and even when I play from major scales, I try to get it to feel like minor... if that makes any sense. I mostly feel blue so blues is the way for me.
I also like to play very aggressive, brutal stuff. Not too fast, just... heavy and dark. To get the anger out of my body and into my playing.
It's been a while since I recorded something, but my tunes are usually in minor key, so I guess that would be on the sad side!
It depènds on what you are thinking when you play, I guess. I like to think of movies, book, or TV series, which are usually pretty dramatic
