A very difficult matter. I do believe Wikileaks is doing a good job, although some of the revelations may cause serious tensions. But I believe that no government should have secrets from its citizens.

Yeah, well, no society's perfect. It's just improving and regressing back, then improving again. I believe that Wikileaks is a step to the right direction.

This has been all over the news lately. From what I've read, it's all stuff that everyone in politics already knew. It's a bit of egg on the face of the State Dept., but honestly it seems to be getting blown out of proportion. I am concerned though that it will make Diplomats much more reticent to write anything down which will make it a tough job for historians trying to piece things together after the fact.

Wikileaks will get quite a bit out smile.gif Which will help historians in the short term. But for the long term, I'm guessing there will be less written down and more just left as voice mail and such so that the State Dept. can avoid future embarassment. So trying to piece together our nations political history with much less documentation is a subject of concern for many scholars just now. Political Scientists, Historians etc. However, even when there are gaps, scholars manage to work around it. So in the end, I I'm kinda glad these things were made public as I don't support secrets in our govt. The more openness the better smile.gif

Todd

Could be he took it further:
Why would wikileaks be truth? Could be just another propaganda device. Would be a smart way for us not to question things tongue.gif
