I know this is an old post but I wanted to follow up on TONE.
Did you notice that MISHA is using an AXE FX in this vid? And to get his "Metalcore Sound" he has to put the OVERDRIVE PEDAL IN FRONT OF IT
The AXE FX is a great unit, but by itself, it can't quite get to where MISHA wants it so he has to add a ProTone Overdrive as a clean boost
That's the real secret to these guys tone.

At this time, I have never tried a distortion pedal that could win the battle against Mesa Boogie, Peavey or Soldano. I wonder what about this one...
