Hi gmcler,

I'm looking for a guitar seller that would ship a BC Rich Assassin FX6 to Germany. I love the inlays, the binding, everything but in don't seem to be available in Germany or even in Europe.

So can you tell me some US stores that export guitars.

I just found someone (http://www.jimlaabsmusic.com) who would ship it, price is about 540$+124$ shipping costs, in addition customs and sales tax i would have to pay 600€ ...

can I trust this shop? Is there a better way to get a fx6?

Dennis

You shouldn't buy a guitar simply for it's looks... I would recommend trying it out somewhere before buying it, or if that is impossible(which it sounds like it is, as you can't find a place to buy it), check plenty of reviews, stats, and the like.

Anyways, if you can find a used one in good shape, it will be a heck of a lot cheaper, and there might even be one somewhere around you area. Check online, or maybe pawn shops and the like. I have no idea about the website, though... sorry.

I agree with that first statment
You shouldn't buy a guitar simply for it's looks... But i think if you know it's built right and made of nice woods you can always replace electronic's which i love to do anyway.I canthelp you though on shipping as im in USA but maybe they have one in your area on Ebay smile.gif

I think there are ways to get around the import tax such as having the package labeled as a gift but I am not really sure as I have never imported anything that big. I do remember awhile ago when I ordered some stuff from america I managed to not pay any extra taxes because it was labeled as a gift...

I know similar guitars, don't worry about my thoroughness, my wish to buy that guitar is carefully considered. But you are right, never buy an instrument just because it looks nice blink.gif biggrin.gif

Hm that could be interesting, but I guess the guitars price is too high to be accepted as a gift.

First of all, thanks for your advices ...

Are here any English GMCler who can recommend UK guitar shops? Perhaps I could buy one there ...

When I was in the UK I got good service from Dolphin but on this they don't seem to be the cheapest - looks like the RRP. Have a look at this but I think Dolphin may well do a price match...
Cheers,
Tony

Rgds Dolphin I can second that. I live in Finland and I bought an amp from them recently and it was a problem free experience, and was the cheapest deal I could find as well. Shipping was by DHL (or similar) and it arrived right on my doorstep.

First i would like to make the note that.. although BC Rich are not acclaimed for their sound i find them really easy to play, i was a warlock for writing all my songs, BUT at the same time although the sound aint great if you are using thick strings, a lower gauge and distortion there is nothing too bad about the sound smile.gif..
Now onto the buying of it.. give me a week and i might be able to get 1 and ship it to u... but bc rich have not been too nice to me latly sad.gif
