What Strech Exericses Did You Use?

Hey Muris, its me again. I have a question. A lot of your lessons you use wide stretches for legato runs and tapping. I was wondering what exercises you used to strech out your fingers. I have pretty long fingers, but I dont seem to have much of a stretch ability.

Muris, Could You Help Me With Pinch Harmonics?

Hey Muris, so Iv been trying to play your Paul Gilbert lesson. My only problem with the lesson is the harmonics. For some reason I kinda can do them, but they sound NOTHING like the way you do them (and other guitarist for that matter). Its hard to explain, but my pinch harmonics just do not sound as powerfull as other peoples. Here is a video of me trying to do the pinch harmonic.

Im using plenty of distortion and the bridge pickup.

My Opinion On Your Playing

I just wanted to say I think your an awesome player man I hope to be able to play like you someday. You are very good at a wide range of styles which is the way that I want to be some day. You play very cleanly too. I learned the 1st finger muting while the 2nd finger vibratos/slides/bends from your videos and its made my playing much cleaner.

One question. Are you mostly a rock player, or other? I think the Van Halen is my favorite lesson on the site, not just technique wise, but melodically.

Question On Chords Modes Lesson

hi, I saw your lesson about applying chords to modes, but I was still wondering how it works.

Ok, I understood the basic principle. Ionian chords would be major, minor, minor. Dorian would be minor, minor, major, etc.

But what I dont understand is how does this apply to creating chord progressions for certain modes? When do you ever hear a chord progression for A Ionian as A major, B Minor, C#minor? Or a progression for A Dorian as A minor, C minor, D major? Do you get what I'm saying?
