Hi there, i'm thinking about selling my epiphone les paul and i don't know what price i should put on it, it's a two years old les paul with DiMarzio pups(PAF PRO & Super Distortion)

when i bought it did cost 5000(swedish value) i had it for two years, it got some scratches and the DiMarzio pups did cost around 2000(again swedish value) but i don't really know what to sell it for, or if i even want to sell it....

so anyone, please help mellow.gif

1 swedish kr= 6.4 american dollars

Thanks! smile.gif

Why not let the market decide and put it on Tradera? (swe eBay) I read some ads over at vendolin.se and it's just crazy what people actually belive their gear is worth. They are for sure adding alot of affection value into it.

To be honest, don't expect too much $$$ sad.gif The pu's could attract some buyers. But the question is if you couldn't earn more if you put the original pu's back and sell the pu's separately. I think so!
An Epiphone at a higher cost caused by the pickups will rather scare off your potential buyer segment. Beginners.

Being a swedw I know he means that he payed 5000 SEK which ~780 USD

the 1 SEK = 6.4 USD is all wrong wink.gif It's rather 1 USD = 6.4 SEK

if 1 swedish kr = 6.4 dollar. and the thing is an Epi. and you did pay 5000 swedish kr for it.

...Dude, you got ripped off very badly.

There are some guys that wouldn't even pay so much for a vintage gibson :S

wait wait wait. just went through an online currency converter 1 usd = 6.4 swedish kr. An good epi is worth that.

With the pickups installed and if the scratches aren't to deep or noticable you'd could start auctions at 400 euro's, that would be 3744.04 swedish KR or 587.80 dollars. But don't expect a big increase on the bids.

Be aware that us swedes get badly ripped off everytime we shop for gear. It spells - high taxes. sad.gif (I'm not entering a discussion about taxes, they carry a lot of good things that I wouldn't want to lose on the expense of low taxes)

That's why so many turn to german webshops which cuts the price a LOT.

Ahh thanks for clarifying that one out MickeM. smile.gif So it is then 780$

Well in that case, the guitar could go probably for 650, depending on the market. How much does a new Epi LP costs in Sweden(with stock pups )?

Dude, don't sell your guitar to be honest. Even if you don't want to play now, there is gonna be a time in your life when you wish you have your old things back. It could be nice if you polish it up, and then hang it in your room for decoration. Then when you feel the music energy flowing through you again, you have a guitar with kick ass pups that you can play.

Keep the gear man, sell your pedals or something, but you'd be surprised how attached you can get on something you hold on for quite a while.

Well if you have the money you can buy a new guitar and see for some time if you want to sell the old one..If so you can ask for 600-650$ for it...Maybe you could put back the stock pickups ? wink.gif

Do you have stock pickups? As Bogdan suggested you can return them on the guitar and sell it for ~600$ probably. I don't think you will get much higher price with current pups, so it may be wise to reverse them.

You can then later transfer these DImarzios on your new Ibanez. I don't know what pups are stock on it tho...

I don't think selling good pickups is a good idea, because they cannot be sold for a lot of money, and they can always let you combine different sounds with instrument.

yeah great idea man smile.gif but the Ibanez already got DiMarzio/Ibanez pup's and i will get the Ibanez much cheaper than it is in Sweden, or i could always get a job so i don't have to sell the epi tongue.gif

then i got two great guitars:D only thing that's missing then is great guitarist biggrin.gif
