I've noticed many folks have strong reactions to CTHONIC, though some folks give it a "meh". They certainly can be an odd mix of styles at points but that's what makes them spiff IMHO For example, they are not afraid to use an URHU ( traditional chinese/taiwanese instrument) in the same song featuring blast beats and screaming.

It doesnt hurt that their bass player is stunning and they have a very energetic stage presence. Also, the music always somehow feels authentic to me. Doens't ever feel like it's trying to "cool" or "core" for the sake of it. But then again maybe it's just me

Not to mention the guitar player is using Lundgren pickups in this vid so he can't be all bad
