Hey guys! I found this cool video by Petrucci where he shows an effective exercise for warming up and training your left hand. It's close to the ones that I use to give in my Technique Course at the Vchat sessions.
Check it out!
Will try that. I still use MAB (Michael Angleo Batio) warm up. Although I have changed it a little. Works for me.

Pick Low to high u d u d u d and High to low sweep u u pick d u u d etc.
And continue with fingers 1 & 3, 1 & 4, 2 & 3, 2 & 4, 3 & 4. On frets 1, 5 and 12.
Always interesting to hear Petrucci's ideas... although does anybody else really irritated by that noise gate they put on the video to try and reduce background noise ??? It sounds like nobody checked the final sound of the vid..
Awesome. I learnt a lot of AP stuff from Petrucci DVD. I only used down picking before that and I wondered how fast could people play.
My warm up exercise has been Ben's legato lesson: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bens-Land-Of-Legato-3/
Lot of stamina and clarity, builds left hand a LOT.
