GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Re-entry In Gmc

Posted by: BartV Jan 12 2013, 01:35 PM

Hey Guys,

This is Bart Vermeylen from Belgium again. After a time i'm coming back to GMC!

I have been very busy (work) and especially next: I moved out. So I renovated a home to the point of liveable. This was a complete summer of my time. Then the internal work in the house (buying sofa and bed and other material). I
've bought a dog, a great golden retriever and trained him.His name is Luca and I'll post a few pics with this topic.

I'm in a new Band named Everglow. It is a Belgium power metal band with a female voice! We are making a new CD (Destination) and is short of completing. I'll post a few songs when it's done. The studio time I did was so amazing, I wished it never ended. It is definitaly something for me! It was so much fun!!

If people from Belgium are here and they love metal, please come to our CD-release in Sint Niklaas (02 February 2013). It's a free performance and a great oppertunity to get to know us! If you want, you can buy our CD at the release party. A poster is included in the topic.

I learned a lot at GMC and know I want to learn more, so hope to see you soon!
And hopefully some of you at the release party of our new CD!

greetings
Bart

Sure.

Here is our website: http://www.everglow.be/
And our facebook: http://www.facebook.com/groups/119380424785420/
And here is my facebook: http://www.facebook.com/bart.vermeylen.1

So I'll give you a quick update on what I did the last few days.
On monday I went with the other guitarist (Alain) to the mastering studio to finish the CD. After carefull listening and 5 hours the CD was done, and it sounded AWESOME! So we got a CD to listen to some different stereo's and our cars to see if the result is what we wanted. Sadly, no. It was too bassy! So on tuesday we went back, straightend it out, and my god, now in my car or on my stereo or anywhere. It sound so good. I'm really pleased with the quality of the work! We maybe just a garage band without a label, but with the right people and enough time (and money) we made an exellent CD that has (almost) the same quality as the big bands smile.gif

I really hope I can let you here the result soon! But you know. For anyone able, we play at a CD-Release on 16 februari 2013. You know, the poster smile.gif.

Great news! Thanks for sharing your experience here! Mastering usually needs some fixes after the first process. Sometimes you even have to adjust the mix since the mastering changes it a lot! I'm happy to know that you got what you were looking for... Your site looks very good, I will be waiting for the new cd mate! Please post here the material as soon as you can.

Thanks for the links! Sorry to hear about your CD sad.gif It's always good to "Jeep test" a mix before it get's to the Mastering/Pressing stage, you can have the engineer give you an AAC or MP3 and put it on your ipod to test in someones car before moving on. It's not a very accurate test, but it can save you trouble later smile.gif
