Hey guys, After a long holiday absence I return with a new song and a video. The song is called "My Shadow, Cast Upon The Sun", Which I wrote after I read the book "Ring" by Stephen Baxter. It's about the lifespan of an individual named Lieserl, who (basically) is put inside the sun and lives in it for 5,000,000 years. The song has quite a bit of synth in it for me, that came out really cool I think. If you listen to the whole song, I think you will hear a lot of interesting things, I spent a week writing it, and 10 hours on guitars, and 3 days organizing effects. A lot of time and effort is in it, So enjoy! (And please let me know what you think! smile.gif )

The video is an excerpt from the song, from the beginning to the end of the solo sections. Feel free to comment on my playing as well cool.gif

And here are the lyrics:

___________________________
___________________________

Born into a pre-determined void
Grown into a pre-sculpted shell
My mind accelerated to its peak
My body left to die

Deprived of human innocence
Suffocated the pleasures of life
Incorporeal consciousness Imbued
Into the photosphere of Sol

Falling through convective cells
Swimming through a plasma sea
Born to navigate the sun
Sleep tightly in its embrace

Idle in time, Alone with the flames
Swimming to her ascendancy
Abandoned and loved
Admired and feared
Left behind in the wake of time

5,000,000 years
Embraced in the sun
5,000,000 years
In the sea of flames
5,000,000 years
Of consciousness
5,000,000 years
Alone

Swimming deeper into the sun
Away from my humanity
Main sequence annihilation
The incoming death of Sol

Ancient feelings arise
Terror, fear, and anxiety
The link to my lost
Sanity

Baryonic lords
Pushed to the void
Dark matter gods
Oppress, Destroy
Leaving the home
Of 5,000,000 years
I must construct
The ultimate form

SOLOS
INSTRUMENTAL SECTION

From the fabric of time
From the strings of space
10,000 Galactic masses
The Ring will rise

In the darkness of space
Kissing the lips of another
Universe
In the void of space
Welcome me, Singularity

From the fabric of time
From the strings of space
Against the universal expansion
The Ring will rise

Returning to the heart of stars
To my plasmatic sea of flames
Sleeping again In the heart of suns
5,000,000 years come to an end

5,000,000 years
Embraced in the sun
5,000,000 years
In the sea of flames
5,000,000 years
Of consciousness
5,000,000 years
Alone

5,000,000 years...
Embraced in the sun
5,000,000 years...
Alone

Oh god, Thanks man!

I have a very simple recording setup. Guitars and Vocals are done through a POD X3 Live, Drums are just acoustica beatcraft with some simple EQ work, and all this is done inside Reaper. Synth is a Roland PC-80 With some standard VSTi's.

And yes, I did all the vocals as well smile.gif

Thanks for the compliment!

Well, I bought it second hand from this luthier near my house, It was originally a Dean Vendetta 2.0 7 string model, But he did some modifications to it electrically and changed the pickups out. Great guitar, I love it cause the string spacing is perfect, not a huge difference from the 6 strings and still plays amazing.

wow man, that´s good indeed! love the voices on 2nd and 4th verse. so f*** deep! love it!
since 04.00 it reminds me to Immortal!! then the weird guitars at 07.00 take me to a deep level, you know, is not that easy to make a long song and turn it interesting for many ears, but you did a great job on this one.
effects give a sensation of ambient black metal, style so bored for me, but mixed into a song, as you did, I found myself enjoying the 11 minutes!

thanks you man, well done!

Wow i'm really impressed. You did a great job with that song i also like that instrumental part, like Lian said it reminds me a lot of Immortal.

Otherwise i like your voice, too. Reminds me a lot of that old Black Metal stuff smile.gif

I hope you will do more songs like that.

Great Job
