Yeah its been posted quite a few times actually, i dont like that guy for the shear fact all his videos are called Insanely Amazing, or his solo Insanely Amazing, and to me its not, and i hate his tone. his technique may be good, but his tone is absolutely horrid.

Sorry, im ranting, that little thing annoys me. apologize for the negativity wink.gif

EDIT
Wow, i mispelled like every word twice.....

Hes got really short fingers.. yet shreds well.. maybe hes tone was off because he was recording on the camera? Idk i think it sounds alright..

Posted by: eddiecat Dec 12 2007, 01:26 PM

I don't know...
But I find some of the lessons of our teachers far more amazing,
in speed, tone, and above all in TASTE.
One example that comes immediately to my mind is Muris' Oriental Shred lesson.
But this is just my opinion.
Cheers to all "guitar junkies"!

Yes Hemlok!
The one example I gave about Muris' lesson is just one,
but I've seen different by Pavel, Wallimann and all the others that are incredible.
And I insist: they don't only show off their technical skills,
but they ALWAYS put amazing taste in what they do,
and I guess that taste is what makes someone glow! smile.gif
Cheers, Eddie

Tho I have to say, this guy is true master,no doubt at all cool.gif

I'm with Eddiecat - taste is the key. When I check out these clips you guys post I close my eyes to listen. So no matter how amazing the shredding may look - I'm always only concerned with how it sounds and how it makes me feel.

Seen this video a couple times before, he's a good player but I don't like his tone aswell sad.gif

Posted by: Kapto Dec 18 2007, 02:11 AM

Just to say he was 16 by then and played most guitar techniques + fingers and "thumb" .Violin and piano were his first instruments. I never wanted to compare him with anyone.

My lessons are recorded with the camera and my tone on them is just how i want it to be wink.gif I noticed a lot of great players avoiding setting up the recording gear - why?? They rock and they ruin it with bad lighting or bad sound setup sad.gif

Posted by: steve25 Dec 19 2007, 12:41 AM

I think his tone is ok, not the best but ok. Maybe tone is really a taste thing. Like people will like some peoples sound and others won't. There instructors tone on this site that i don't like but will still do the lessons and stuff to learn it, but not necessarily like the sound

Posted by: Kapto Dec 19 2007, 01:50 AM

Damn right.
I'd like to have Gabriel's and Muris sound sets and guitars someday (and the skill) tongue.gif

he's a good player, but i dont like his tone and it sounds like he's muting half the notes while he's speedpicking.
