GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Minor Pentatonic Scale.

Hey Folks,
I got the minor pentatonic scale for you with al the extra notes, maybe it has a name but I wouldn't know.
I promised to send it to Batista but I might as well post it here, for the ones who may find this usefull.
Have fun with it, and if it has any name please enlighten me

the extra notes make it a major(or a minor if you add 1 and a half step to the note's name, for example A minor is C major)

You need to be very careful about where the root notes are, but yes. Root notes are the key to understanding all of this.
This works because minor and major pentatonic scales are a subset of minor and major scales respectively.

It is a shame this diagram does not state the actual notes. The sooner you can associate pitches with positions the better !

Speaking of extra notes , can somebody explain me which are the Sweet Notes? I know which are the blue notes (aug 4th) , but not the sweet notes in a minor pentatonic, or is it only in the Blues Pentatonic?

It's probably "blue" note,haven't heard of "sweet" note before.
You can play it as a #4 in minor pentatonic scale which makes a "blues scale".
Speaking of the sheet at the beginning of a thread,
I notice some odd and quite wrong thing here.
There are no such a thing like "extra" notes in minor pentatonic.
If you take a better look at the sheet,black and red notes together create natural minor scale,
and we all know that minor pentatonic scale is just a part of minor scale.
So I wouldn't call it "extra" notes,imho.

Muris wathc this video is in spanish from a colombian guitarrist , but he plays the "sweet notes" so you can hear them. Tell me what you think about it.
