Hey everyone. A couple of people have asked me if I'd do a Celtic Music recommendation list so here it is. I've gone with just a few sub genres as most I could have just called "celtic Fusion". But if people come up with more I'll certainly add them. The majority of the bands I've listed are from either North America, Ireland or the UK, however I made note of a few that were from other countries as I know GMC is very diverse. Now some of these bands were hard to classify as they all do a bit of traditional, but hopefully it's a fairly accurate job. Please point out any errors you may see and please feel free to add ones I've missed. Hope you all enjoy

Great list Rokchik,
I'll try to dig out a few more for you later but my wife would kill me if I didn't ask you to add Christy Moore under trad . As an aside ,my our daughter counts her blessings, if she'd been a boy she'd have been called Christy - true story . Might also be a difference in spelling but also Wolfe Tones under Celtic Rock same as Wolftones? Anyway I'll look through the albums/cds later. A few more possibles Rokchik - sorry if they're in there already.
Trad - Mary Black, Maire Brennan, Dolores Keene, Dick Gaughin, Dave Spillane, Mary Coughlan, Jimmy McCarthy. If you want to let Scottish music in then - Boys of the Lough, Capercaille. And Irish/Scottish/English - Five Hand Reel. Christy Moore - great singer and a good guitar player as well. Very funny to watch in concert -if you can't get to see him live the live cds are still funny . Nice touch putting the links in green . Absolutely right about Dick G and Five Hand Reel Rokchik - he was also in Boys of the Lough with Aly Bain but as a soloist did the wonderful - at least in my opinion- album 'Handful of Earth' . (Lots of other great albums but that one stands out particularly.)

Thanks I'll look in to Leahy.
Wife has made a disgusted noise and pointed out that I've missed out the following: Trad - De Dannan, Patrick Street, Moving Hearts (I'm embarrassed to have forgotten them as ol' Christy Moore was in them and Planxty) and Luka Bloom. Might not be suitable for the list but maybe worth a mention - Ivor Cutler, the Scottish folk poet who recorded a number of albums including 'Life in a Scotch Living Room Vol 2' and was much loved by the late John Peel (UK Radio1 DJ).
