GMC Forum _ Uploads _ Help Tabbing Some Old Nintendo Melodies

Posted by: steiner666 Jul 22 2008, 10:45 PM

Ok, my friend just asked if I'd do a metal-ish remake of some of the songs from an NES game to be used in one of his semi-popular internet/youtube episodes. Deadline is August 3rd, by then I need to not only have things tabbed out, but also recorded (bass, guitar, drums, possibly vocals) and programed (synth orchestration and percussion).

Here's the real stinker of it all: I busted my A string last night during a grueling marathon of Carcass covers and musiciansfriend probably won't have my new strings here until the end of the week. My other guitar is at a friends house, and he won't be bringing it back into town until the weekend. So it's going to be that much harder for me to get this done in the time-frame given.

Just wondering if anyone is interested in helping get this stuff tabbed out, or at least give me some advice (other than "use your ears!") on how to get it done quickly and correctly. Full credit will be given in the videos credits to anyone interested in helping!

Here is the in game music (sorry it's not edited down or converted to mp3 cause I can't do that until I get home):

got the 2nd little melody from DT2 figured out, now to work my way backwards... once i got home to my now 5-stringed guitar i found it easier to tab than i thought

*edit* ok, so DT2 is down, at least the main melody, i don't image the bass lines and such will be too hard to add...
