World cup Thursday Huge fan of football and my Team Croatia plays opening match to the Brazilians, not gonna lie to you makes me nervous! Any other fans out there??

I'm a big fan of World Cup! Argentinean people is so fanatic of football in general and World Cup is the biggest event. We are very anxious, all TV shows are based on this.

Our first match is this Sunday with Bosnia.

The World Cup is one of my favorite events to watch. I will watch all the matches that I can. It will be tough for my team USA to get out of there group. Facing Germany, Portugal, and Ghana (who have elimated us the last two World Cups).

Also read an article about USA having to travel 9,000 miles in 10 days for the world cup.

I think Argentina have a really good chance of winning the world cup. They have really good attacking players.I also think Belgium will do really well they have some quality players.

With how hot it is in Brazil a lot of teams that are not used to that heat and humidity will struggle to play 100% for 90 minutes

As always in major competitions anything can happen and there usually are teams that do really well that no one would expect.

Oh, has it been 4 years already? Well, since Sweden didn't make it this time, I guess I could just enjoy some quality playing. The 5 hour time difference might play a trick or two on my beauty sleep though.

Belgium looked awesome, Croatia was in there qualifying group, as does Spain and Argentina. I wish I had a bit more faith in Croatia we are to flip flop all over the place play great one game then horrible the next and our best striker Mandzukic is out with a red card from our horrible display against Scotland in qualifying.

I'm Dutch, so The Netherlands is my team. They played yesterday against Spain. Payback time for the lost worldcup final against Spain in 2010.

Same here, going to watch almost every possible match!

I've been a long time English football fan (since late 80's), everyone know how "good" is Finnish football national team (one good result
here and there, usually from friendlies).

Come on England!!!!!!!

But I have also always big sympathy for every other scandinavian countries, but this time it's so sad there's not even Sweden or Denmark here in Brazil.

Most important is good enjoyable football without blind referees!!!

TODAY!!!! Argentina vs Bosnia!!! We are very anxious here for the match. I'm now at my girlfriend's parents house where they have a big screen, like a cinema, HD where we will watch the match with many friends.

I'm also happy because Italy (my second nationality) has won yesterday.

Amazing world cup so far....
I was not able to see too many games but as Austria is not qualified (as most of the last tournaments) I have many different teams I like..

my boys want italy to win..
but I guess brazil or argentinia (if messi can play like he did in the last month) will win.

Seen most of the games. Even Nigeria - Iran which was admittedly, terrible . Germany played great tho!
I'm a big Holland fan, as I was at the last world cup (so close!). Hoping RVP will shine, he had a bad season at Manchester United,
and he deserves it .

The hours are crazy! Both Argentina - Bosnia and England - Italy were aired at 1am. I did manage to watch the games .

America pushed it through and finally beat Ghana.

How about Pepe with the headbutt against the guy from Germany. So far that's been the only real classless sporting act I've seen for this World Cup.

After watching Hollands performance against Spain a think they do have a good chance of going far.RVP header was outstanding.



Pepe should be ashamed of himself. Representing his country at such a big tournament and he has no discipline whatsoever. He let himself down, his teammates and fans.Its not the first time he has acted in such a way and it certainly won't be the last.



The Germans looked strong but a do believe Portugal made things easy for them. It will be interesting to see how they fair up against better opposition

Nice game from Germany yesterday, looks like guys got boost from Michael's recovery. But Portugal wasn't playing any good, few attacks got really lost when nobody knew what to do with the ball -> lets pass it to Ronaldo And Pepe...what a dumb move.

Belgium got 2 goals in the end (Nice header from Fellaini almost right after he got in) and cleared Algeria.

Brazil - Mexico is on soon. Lets see if blond haired Neymar keeps scoring goals.

Suarez is just to good.Even if England were to get into the knockout stages I think they would really struggle with some of the performances unexpected teams have showed.

Netherlands played their 3rd match. Pretty amazing that they scored 10 goals in 3 matches and group winner with 9 points. Many people in my country didn't expect this at the start of the tournament. Next round here we come!

I cant believe Suarez bit someone AGAIN! thats 3 times ( I know of ) that he's been caught on camera biting someone!
Im also amazed at the restraint by the guy(s) who got bitten. if it was me..... he wouldn't have any teeth left to do it again!

The group stage of the World Cup has been fun to watch. I was biting my nails today watching USA vs. Germany and waiting for the final result from Ghana vs. Portugal. USA were outmatched by Germany today, even though we were able to give them a good fight and almost rallied a late equalizer.

Now onto the Round of 16! I'm looking forward to some great matches. Netherlands vs. Mexico/ Brazil vs. Chile/ Argentina vs. Switzerland… and of course USA vs. Belgium.

Every match this weekend had some amazing moments. Congrats to the Dutch. Mexico softened their attack after they scored the first goal which I thought was a big mistake. I have a lot Mexican friends I work with. They will be pretty sore about that late penalty kick call. I think Mexico have been knocked out of this stage 5 World Cups in a row.

Costa Rica survived 60 minutes with a man short. Greece had so many chances not to let it go to PKs. Should be a good match for the quarterfinal.

I hope your right. We should be getting our best striker Altidore back from his hamstring injury. This would relieve a lot of pressure from Bradley and Dempsey. Bradley has been pressing and playing a bit sloppy. he is a much better player than he has shown... If he can pull it together I think it will give USA a good chance.

The referees on this tournament played a remarkable role in many matches. Many bad decisions, including this one.
