These two programs can slow down the temp without changing the pitch. Useful when you want to pick out note per not solos and licks. You can loop that section of a song we wish to study closer.

Riffster Lite download
Only slows down to 80% but if that's enough it's simple to use

My favourite, can slow down to 20%.. not very practical but it can, Best practise homepage and direct download

verry verry helpfull. thanks a lot


shame i haven't found something simmilar like this for a mac. Cause i don't think pro tools or garageband have these functions

Cubase 3+ has it built in ... (haven't used Cubase on a Mac though) - in fact Cubase is cool in this area - you can record audio and Midi, then lock in the tempo and you can then or speed up/down the entire song including the audio just by changing the tempo. It also lets you transpose on the fly as well. On the other hand, Cubase is pretty pricey!
