Of course GMC can improve, even if it's already a fantastic tool.

the only thing I can say about the lesson quality is that I wish we had more acoustic lessons, not classical acoustic, but sort of percussive acoustic, like Andy Mckee, but easier for me to get started on! laugh.gif

My minor complaints are that there aren't enough country and/or bluegrass lessons. If there were a country equivalent of Lian G. cranking out country lessons, I'd have to quit my day job to keep up. laugh.gif

I'd like more challenging bass lessons, too. Maybe some drum stuff, too.

I realize I'm probably a small minority in those two requests though.

A big thanks to GMC for having Guitar Pro files with all the lessons. Even better if the chord names are shown above the TAB.

The instructors are all super helpful, too.

There should be a option "I dont know/null vote" at all of these questions, since I have no experience with some of GMC's features and thus weight of my vote should be null, in sake of informational value of the poll.

EDIT: Especially the MTP, REC, Wiki and competitions part should have this option, since they are not used by majority of members I believe.

I also wanted to vote very critically, so for me the lesson quality section only got a "could do some improvement" because the quality varies a lot depending on each instructor. I wouldn't make a fuss about it but there are some incorrect tabs (making it confusing for beginners) or without extended camera angles the section of the lesson can be harder to grasp. Another "weaker" point for me was the competition part - here I think the monthly competitions should deserve a bit more attention or regular bumping of the thread. As I experienced, sometimes people simply forgot about it or otherwise there would have been more entries.

The others are all 5 (or more) to me!

As a package, GMC is the BEST.

This poll is a fantastic idea by Andrew - and we will have more of them for sure. We already discussed doing one that only asks about lesson content/features.

I think the result of this poll confirms our current direction - we have some good stuff going on - but we definitely need to work harder and deliver even better stuff.

Also - we should probably bare in mind that the people who would have voted "awful/needs improvement" are [quite understandably] not here to vote about it! wink.gif

I am very happy to see that the forum/moderation gets such good grades! Of course, I am not surprised. We have got a very tight and sensible moderator team. smile.gif

Oh and I do agree about country lessons - we desperately need more country instructors. I am thirsty for more country licks!

I voted. biggrin.gif We all know I love this place. biggrin.gif

I did give REC a 3 since I would have liked to see slower tempos aloud. I understand why they are not, since it would make an 8L lesson no longer an 8L. But if someone post an 8L lesson at 30 BPM then it would just not pass. Anyone who can play a higher lesson at a lower speed but clean, deserves some recognition for it. IMHO wink.gif

Argh

You put the "Best" furthest down and the "Worst" on top on the 1-5 votes, its almost always the other way around. I voted wrong on the last parts... :/
