Glad you started to practice this mate!
Am pentatonic scale is: A C D E G Each note has it's own position based on the low E string. This is why the 5th fret position is the first one, and it goes from there. E is the fourth note of the Am pentatonic scale, so it's the fourth position on open strings or 12th fret (both positions are the same, and start from E note on the low E string). _____________ CAGED system is based on 5 chords that can be found on open strings. These 5 chords are movable across the fretboard, in order to create 5 positions on the neck.
