Hi,

This is my take, I know I made some mistakes, my fingers slipped sometimes, but anyway I decided to post my take today even if it's 12:10 AM the time for me now (midnight) and I am tired and maybe I could practice a few more days, but I wanted to post it anyway.

It happens that if I make a mistake in one place and try to record it again it can happen to make a mistake in other place and so on.

Hi Victor! It's always recommendable to share takes at REC because we can monitor your progress and give early feedback!

There are many positive things happening in this take. Both hands are in sync, there are not unwanted noises or unclean sections. Your timing is good in most of the parts! That's a lot my friend!

I also think that you need to continue practicing this one, in order to be able to play the parts with your hands more relaxed. I specially think that your picking hand is a bit tense, and that maybe extending your thumb (check how Darius holds the pick). I also recommend you to try to make the up and down movement (from your wrist) more regular, and avoid extra movements. Try to economize your alternate picking technique (again compare your right hand with the instructor).

Once you are more comfortable, and you can keep timing tight all along the lesson, you can put some focus on tone and dynamics. These would be the final elements to improve.

Firstly, let me say congrats for memorizing and playing this entire thing. It's a good size bit of music with a lot of moving parts and you do a very good job with it. Without repeating what's been said, I noticed that the arp bit that starts about 40 seconds in is lagging just a pinch. This is understandable as it's a very tricky bit and there is not so much as a beat to adjust to it you just gotta stick the landing. I'd say ISOLATION is your friend here. Play the part right before it, then the arp bit, and loop it. Reduce the speed a bit from the actual peice and build back up. Next thing you know it will be smooth as glass!!!!! Still, I think you have what this REC is trying to teach. I'd still suggest you work more on it, but I think you are a solid 7 on it!

I would like to add the tense right hand we are seeing is likely to impact your timing as well.

Most importantly - I think is to emphasise that tension is the last thing we want in our technique. Sometimes it is hard to avoid when pushing the speed limit - but there is not reason to be tensed when practicing. In fact, avoiding - and controlling - tension is one of my top priorities when playing slowly.

If you tense up at this tempo you will find it extremely hard to push your threshold to higher speeds.

Hey there!

Nice to see you working over my lesson. I noticed you respected the reversed picking pattern in the final part (it is common for this lesson to forget to switch). So that's definitely a good point. Another one is your focus - I feel that you are focused and trying to pull out best you can out of the take.

First tweak I would start from is the pitch. You guitar is not perfectly in tune. Tuning is something that can take up to 50% of performance quality becasue it is present all over the take. Of course I'm sure you know some basics and it seemed an easy process but in reality....it's not. It takes some time for the guitar to get used to temperature (when you close and open window in your room for example. It takes soem time to stretch the strings. It should also take some time to rechek fretted notes and make compromise between their pitch and open strings pitch. (+/- 3 cents is a good compromise - better than 0 cents on open strings and +6 cents on frets for example)

Tempo - you tend to rush / play in front of the beat. when I practise, I try to focus on the notes that cover bass drum or snare beats in the backing. IF you highly focus on just a few critical spots in each bar, then rest of the notes will match automatically.

There are some missed notes, but you noticed already

I would go for a stronger picking in general. You picking is soft to medium. You would have problems getting the right tone from an amp because most of tone shaping happens in the hand itself. Good thing to start working at from now on. Stronger picking will also deliver some difficulty for both hands - it will expose some unconfident fretting hand spots. In general it will simply make you sound better, not mentioning that the side effect is better timing (it is harder to play soft and perfectly in time)

Video - next time please try to capture both hands in full range - left side of your neck is missing and we are maybe missing some tips that could have been given. If you have no ability to capture wider video resolution, you can slightly rotate on your chair.

Left hand looks promissing if we speek of your overall shaping/fretting method. It is weak now bnut it will develope - remember - legato is a tough technique that requires honest amount of strength. Your trills exposed that you need more workout.

Stay positive - you're on the good path. Things above are typical issues on your level and there is nothing critical happening that would make you have to reset your hand shaping and sort of...learn the guitar again from teh scratch Well done
