Don't look at me,
I haven't tried those combos/heads you mentioned above. Mesa is generally very good brand, with lots of gain on certain models, like RoadKing per example. Once again it comes to tastes,Mesa,H&K,Krank,Diezel,Engl,Marshal etc. All good amps with high gain here and there but you still have to try it by yourself to make final decision. Same thing about combo or head choice. Some prefer heads or rack while some like it as combo. Atm I have 2 racks + cab and I really want to make things more simple with combo but it doesn't mean anything to you, perhaps you'll enjoy head+cab a lot! -------------------- Youtube

I agree with FrankW, all of Mesa amps are great, you can't go wrong there. I don't think words can really describe what you want to buy, try to find in a store some Mesa combos, and try them out. Only this way you will be sure if that is the amp you want or not. When you hear the Mesa - you will know if it is the amp for you.

I must add that I tried Rect-O-Verb
and it's surely not higain amp by its default imho. There is lot of gain but not enough if you're looking for shredy meat sound. But combined with unit like G-Force per example you can get much more from this or any other amp, EQ's,compressor and certain filters will help you to get more attack and eventually "virtual" gain. Btw,I played some Marshall combo 2 weeks ago, not sure of the model tho, it's 2 channels, solid tube,1x12 speaker. Now,I'm not fan of Marshall's drive because of that "fuzz" around your tone. But I used G-Force in FX Loop and after just few minutes of tweaking its filters and cutting everything above 5Khz this combo somehow sounded like really great amp. -------------------- Youtube

Boogies are awesome amps, if you want high gain then try the rectifier or roadking models, they rule big time. But as Muris already said, it is all a matter of taste, so it would be the best to go to music stores and try as many heads/combos as you can to build up your own opinion. And as a tip, the best setups are the simple ones, huge setups with tons of different amps and effects can cause a lot of stress, I would rather keep it simple.
