B Major Intermediate Solo Help

Great solo, I can't wait to master it. I'm only to part 2 where the 'picking, hammer on, then tap technique' comes into play. I've never done this before, and I've had minimal tapping experience. Do you have any advice for mastering this technique properly? Also, could you recommend the tone settings you used while recording that video? I love it! Tapping is quite often frustrating when we face it for the first time, we have problems to get a note at all, we get unwanted noise etc. All those issues are solved if we practice of course. So here are few basic things about tapping: - it requires some extra time to gain strength in your tapping finger to perform it correctly - you have to be careful when you're done with tapping, you can easily pluck nearby string with your finger - your tone should be dialed properly in order to have enough attack and output for tapping (compressor is often in use) So that's about tapping as it is. However, it this lesson you have to perform a pull-off after tapping. Are you facing problems with that? And as for tone, I used some kind of distortion with a bit of chorus and stereo delay. I used Korg Pandora PX4D and if you use some other device it's quite hard to give you settings like that. I would need to hear your tone first and then give you some hints. I was too quick to make a post when practice was the obvious answer. Now I'm on to the third part of the lesson which involves a sweep picking lick. This is my first attempts at sweep picking so I know it will just take time. I'll let you know if any troubles come up, but I think I'll be ok. I'm playing into a Pod Studio GX and I've got close to your sound but I lack the chorus and I need to tweak the delay a bit. As soon as I can get a web cam I'll post my finished product, it could take a month or so to master it though.
