I was listening to a band from around my way last night and realized no one ever really discusses them. Is anyone familiar with Shadows Fall? If not you should check them out. They are a bit heavy but their guitarist Jonathan Donais
can really wail!! I constantly forget we are all in different countries and are not familiar with the same music.

Yeah they're a very cool band!
Had alot of respect for them....until i heard alot of stories from friends that the guitarist is a bit full of himself, arrogant and just down right not cool.

I saw them live and they were absolutely fantastic! It was on the `Black Crusade` tour with Machine Head, Dragonforce, Trivium and Arch Enemy. They were probably better than Dragonforce and Arch Enemy even though they were just the supporting band tongue.gif

I saw them live too... they put on a good show. They play really crappy music now in my opinion. Mainly ballads, early stuff is amazing though.

They were by far the worst band on the black crusade tour, not very original and totally static performance.

That seems to be the case with a lot of lead players I've come across through the years

'big egos' laugh.gif tongue.gif

Wish guitar players or musos in general wouldn't get like that, what's the point?java script:add_smilie:lol:

Don't get me wrong they still good at what they do, things like that just kill it a bit for me.
Great to hear the other guy is cool:)

Who cares if someone's got a huge ego if you like their music? You're not supposed to live with them.

On the other hand, if the music is as "good" as shadows fall's music, then even a big ego doesn't help.

I have not heard much of their stuff, I just can't stand the singers scream, its terrible in my opinion. I love the acoustic intro to the song 'The Light that Blinds' I often youtube it.

i love this band, i discovered them before they were on guitarhero and still enjoy their stuff. The screaming is like alot of stuff, takes some time to get used to but then u realise they have some awsome riffs, great solos and the singing really compliments it. People seem to have mixed reviews. personally when i saw them live they were alot better than other bands on the black crusade, and their live performance was flawless. Great drumming and the guitarwork is insane. But everyone gets their opinion smile.gif
