I remember a bass player from my band was all mad when i started to sweep on a bass - he's a kick ass bass player but he started to sweep when he saw me (guitarplayer) sweeping on bass! It was like: "When the hell did you practice that??" - i said: "I never did! I only play guitar!"
 By the way Andrew: you have a bass guitar, right? Trust me - a warm-up on bass is the best warmup for guitar you can get! Just play a scale up and down for 5 minutes on bass guitar and when you pickup the guitar you'll feel like you are already playing for 4 hours! Great tip thanks, never thought of that  So If I add just a liitle bass practice to my schedule, my bass playing will benefit and I'll be all warmed up for the real thing - excellent!
