GMC Forum _ Practicing (Muris) _ Bb Minor Intermediate Take

Posted by: lcsdds Dec 6 2009, 11:23 PM

Hi Muris......been awhile since I posted any vids. I've been working on this lesson for a few days now and wanted to get some feedback. The AP still gave me some problems and it isn't as clean as I would like but considering where my AP was a year ago I'm pretty happy with it. Timing is off in a few places as well.

Any feedback you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks Muris and I hope all is well with you.

Mooonteeeee!!!!

Great to see another clip from you, it's been a while indeed. smile.gif

First thing I noticed here is such a wonderful vibrato you're displaying,
I can't tell for sure if I thought a lot earlier about your vibrato
but this time it really got me, just great, big thumbs up for that.
Then legato and tapping part, you nailed it very well as the rest of legato lick latter in the lesson
eventho there were tiny rhythmic issues but nothing major, at least not with legato licks.
Now, picking parts do need more work I guess, you seem to loose timing for a blink
and then somehow you get it back on track, not sure what's the main reason
but no matter what I believe some extra practicing will cure all that.
Oh yeah, I noticed some small timing error at the very beginning of the lesson,
you were kind a late on few notes, I dunno for sure was it your idea or it just happened?
And tone wise, try lowering bass and gain a little,
it would be great if tone could be more accurate and defined.
It's probably a bit harder to play all those legato stuff with less gain
but you don't have to turn it half way down, just a little bit, you'll hear when it happens,
when tone gets more character and everything, give it a shot.
Good job, very well done. smile.gif

Sorry guys but I had to see this one smile.gif

This is an awesome take Monte. I would agree to everything that Muris said but I love your take. It has a feel and something special about it. Those bits and pieces that you're missing will come together soon but your overall control is awesome. Great job man smile.gif

Thanks for the input Muris. I'm glad you noticed my vibrato.....I've really been working on it. The one great thing about making these little videos is that when you watch them back you can really see areas of you playing that need work and I noticed that about my vibrato awhile back. I've really been working on it the last 6 months or so. I'm still working on my picking and it is coming along. I've been focusing on my string changing mechanics and I think it is helping a lot. I will work on my tone as well. Thanks for the input again Muris. I'm working on your Mixolydian intermediate lesson next and I'll post it when I get a halfway decent take. smile.gif
