i think the answer everyone is thinking is "go try both and decide yourself". the difference between 1000 and 2000 dollars is quite a bit. our advice is really insignificant compared to what you think when it comes to something like this.

my advice: go try them both at a guitar store and decide.

What did you learn tonight?
while shouting so loud, you barely joyous, broken thing.
You are a voice that never sings, is what i say.
You are freezing over hell
You are bringing on that end you do so well
and you can only blame yourself, is what is say.

I have a JEM and I also have a Petrucci Music Man, I personally like the Music Man more, but it's really up to you it's a personal preferance.

I never played a Jem or a music man but the Ibanez 2550 is my main guitar now and I can say it'S the best guitar I ever played on.

Why? I'm going to go try them all out but. I'm just going to look for certain things that people like about them and dislike.. and see if I feel the same way.

Don't forget the Ibanez RG1570, I recently bought one of these and I'm very happy with it. I was torn between a Gibson LP, 2550 or A Jem and I ended up with the 1570. Try as many as you can and get the one that feels best to you. Make sure to buy the one you try and don't let them go get a boxed up guitar from the back, each guitar has it's own sound and feel(kind of like a car) so if you take one that you didn't try you could be dissatisfied with it. Also, never buy online for the same reason and if anything goes wrong with it you have to wait for shipping both ways as well as the repair time.

I would just go with the $1000.00 .Thats just me cause you would get a very high quality guitar for that anyway, the rest you would just be buying the name or extra flash smile.gif

Kustom DFX100 With Celestion Speakers, and thats it now (lol)

My Advice
Figure out what you want in life early.Wether it's the girl, the partying
or mastering the guitar.Adding any 2 together will get in your way.
