Hello Dudes & Dudettes !

As the cold season draws in, I whipped out my acoustic guitar and got all moody and atmoshpheric for our next VIDEO COLLAB !

Yes, you read that right - this is going to be an audio & video collab, so you know what to do.

Here is the piece in question.. it has 3 sections..
1 - lone acoustic guitar, setting the scene. Am, F x 4 then Dm, Dm/A# x 4. Am scale works for Am,F. Dm scale works for Dm, Dm/A#
2 - the same theme but with drums and bass. Same as section 1
3- a different chord progression. Am, F, G, Dm x 4. Am scale works for this section.

Play over whichever part you like ! It can be acoustic, clean or distorted

Please upload mp3 audio here if you can, as it takes up less space. If you don't have an mp3 converter you can download Winlame for free. It's what I use and it always works.
For video, MP4 or AVC is ideal, but do what you can. Also, try and keep the audio from camera too so I can match up the footage with your audio takes easier

The Deadline is Friday, December 16th !

Hey Guys, thought I'd better resurrect this thread in case y'all forgot about it.. today was going to be the deadline but I'm extending it a bit because I know everyone's busy over the Xmas season.

I don't mind if it doesn't become a big collab, I'm happy with whatever we get.. so I'll see where we are with it by the end of this weekend

Here's my entry. It came out quite sad melody but I tried to cheer it up with my hat and other Christmas decorations.

Here is my take, only a little late...I fooled around with green screen for the first time, have to adjust the lighting of the room a bit next time.

That was fantastic ! Extra points for all the effort you put into the video as well.. love the flashing Xmas decoration at the end !!



Christian, this is possibly your best playing yet ! Your vibrato has really improved and I'm hearing a lot of variation with phrasing tempo as well. As for the girls in the background.... what else did I expect ??

This was my first green screen recording...so the background choice was easy. Although, I was really searching for "snow bunnies"...this is what google came up with.

Ok everybody.. I'm compiling all the video files ready for when I start editing. So far I have the video files from Wee Pee, H4H & Bogdan.. I don't think I have video files from anyone else yet (unless I'm forgetting). I have all audio which is cool, so if you could pm links to your video files I'll download them

Cheers Ben! I used Magix Vandal Amp Sim for it! It's a lot more simple to tweak that GR4/Amplitube! I'm actually getting some nice sounds from it!! When I did my first collabs here I was using my live Rig straight into the Mic Line. Couldn't understand why in a live set-up my rig sounded good but recording that way always ended up very 'fizzy'!! I'm slowly dragging myself into the 21st Century!!!

Hehe, yeah I know what you mean. I'm still using my Marshall head for all recording. I started experimenting with Amplitube etc.. at first I thought it was crap but when I eventually worked out how to get a good sound from it, the demo trial ran out !

I don't even have Photoshop. I have this free program called Gimp but I don't even know how to use that properly !

Hope you like it !! I know I cut parts out of the takes but I'm sure you expected that anyway, in order to make it all flow together instead of having our takes one after the other



Very well played everyone. I don't really have any criticisms this time, only compliments !

WeePee.. very strong rhythm and melodies.. and good use of varying tempos too !

Sensible Jones.. some sublime bluesy bends in your take. The pauses also add to it by showing control and interaction with the backing. Very impressed.. and I love the tone !

H4H.. You always picks strong melodies.. and your take was as precise as always. Taseful and great tone !

Gitarrero.. I've said to you earlier in this thread that it's probably the best guitar playing I've heard from you yet. Good use of bends.. I don't know what you've done with your guitar playing lately but keep doing it !

Bogdan.. Love the playing and the snow ! The only thing I've got to say is try to be careful of playing outside in the cold or you'll suffer from bad joints when you're older !

Quadrium.. Your take was very measured, retained and controlled.. good melody too. (Sorry I didn't use a lot of it.. the way the editing turned out, I had to keep things the way they were or risk ruining the flow. I'll make up for it in the next one !)

Whoa... This is more than just a collab, it really sounds as a complete instrumental song! Love the mood throughout the entire track, the particular takes blend so well with each other. Congratulations guys, awesome mix. This is going on my mp3 for sure
