This is one of my all time favorite songs to cover. I have learned and forgotten many songs , but this one (and a few others) seems to stay with me over the years. Sounds pretty good Deleted. If you were going for a note for note approach, a few of the phrases need some work.
Overall this is a good take though. My suggestion would be to get started on transcribing the saxophone solo. smile.gif Rock on!

Good job Deleted! This is a very good solo that is very enjoyable to play and it's also a great practice for different techniques and expression. There are a two things that I would mark that you should pay attention while you practice this one:

- Dynamics: You play the whole solo with the same intensity, work on stronger and lighter picking to give the solo more dynamics which will give it more feeling and expression.

- Bending: This technique has some pitch issues sometimes. You have to work on your bending to make it more precise.

Keep on rocking! wink.gif

And this can be done by plugging a tuner in your signal chain, and either practicie bends slowly or playing up to tempo while checking the tuner out (to see how you are doing).

Classic way to practice this is to first play the note you are trying to bend to (without bending), and then practice bending up to it.

Btw awesome to see you go the musical path Deleted (as discussed in chat)! biggrin.gif

Hehe! Great to see you tackling one of the difficult solos smile.gif not in respect to technique or speed, but because of the interpretation smile.gif

As Kris and Gabi suggested, please focus on dynamics - how? Listen to the original recording and see how to achieve an expression close to it - pick harder or softer when required, ok?

In respect to bending - Kris suggested one way and I will suggest a second one - try to record over the original and then listen in order to compare the takes in respect to bending - are your bends matching the ones in the original?

I'd be happy to help out with improving articulation skills and interpretation in general, so, please let me know if you are interested smile.gif

and to add a bit more to my Kris and Cos suggestions, I would like to invite you to work on this lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...String-Bending/

Learn and practice the lesson over the original main video to be sure that you are reaching the correct pitch.

and also add the first exercise from the following video to your diary practice:

And if you want to work together on articulation, I would recommend one of my lessons (shameless pluggin tongue.gif) which I think will give you a lot of training for developing your bending and articulation skills:

Really great cover man! One thing I've noticed though is that on some of those bends you don't really pick with an emphasis. This solo has some bends that are accented by a hard pick and then it returns to smoother, softer picking.

Add that and you'll have a killer solo. I'm no expert by any means but I used to do the same thing for a long time before someone stopped me for a second and gave me that tip!

Great mate! Nice to know it. Dynamics is a feature that we usually don't note at first but it awesome how much it affects to the expression of our playing. Playing blues and melodic stuff is usually a good exercise for this and also to work on other expression techniques like bending and vibrato.

I find this lesson is an excellent workout for this: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Blues-Dynamics/

I really recommend you to work on it.

Great to know, man! PM me as soon as you wanna start wink.gif In the mean time, I got another suggestion in respect to nuances and dynamics in playing:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/John-Mayer-Style-Ballad/

John is definitely a master on the subject, so I tried to emulate his style as best as I could smile.gif

Excellent! It's a long lesson, it has many blues licks, and dynamics go from powerful blues to really soft playing so work on it focusing on details.
