I've been playing around heaps and heaps discovering what is in my Native Instruments package and this song incorporates a lot of orchestral samples from Kontakt 4. Still a work in progress but I have the basic structure, now to polish and refine; change some of the melody sections, smooth transitions and so on.

Hope you all enjoy... (or preferably, feel very depressed - in which case the song has made its point! biggrin.gif )

EDIT UPDATE: I've finally finished this and decided to rename it to "Was she only a dream?" Posted on youtube. Hope you enjoy...!

Jokes aside, I didn't found it so depressing, rather dreamy. Sounds like some movie soundtrack to me. You did a great job in establish a feeling to the listener here imo. However I miss some kind of theme, a melody, a hook or whatever, but I liked it very much!!!

Thanks guys. Games/tv/film/commercials is my chosen direction, and I'm enjoying working with new tools and not relying on just guitar.

Interesting that it makes me feel sad, but doesn't have that effect on y'all. *scratches head*

I kinda got a sad vibe from the beginning. Like a scene in the movie Titanic or something..The middle, I felt more of a Lethal Weapon scene.. laugh.gif Still trying to put my finger on the ending but musically, it does attract. Nice job. smile.gif

Sounds great man! Samples and composition sounds like an interesting movie theme. Possibly some development and theme could be included. It doesn't sound like depression to me neither, rather mystery, dreamy feeling. Drums are kinda boring to me after some time as I would expect them to go to a build up and make a "groove" after some time when they just randomly kick in... Very good work overall! smile.gif

Doesn't really make me feel sad either. I reminds me of Sid Meier's Civilization games he has. Those are fun strategy games.

I enjoyed i!

Final version now posted on youtube. Link in first post. Renamed "Was she only a dream?" which seems to fit the feel better and given that I was the only person who got a 'sad/depressed' vibe from it. Can't fight the audience. Enjoy.

This is very refreshing, it isn't that much melancholic, just.... relaxing.
