GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ New Amp For My New Axe!

Posted by: Manny Apr 29 2008, 03:20 AM

I just bought a Schecter Hellraiser w/ Floyd Rose (which I absolutley love) and I'm looking for a new amp to destroy... I mean play tongue.gif

The Hellraiser has super high- gain active EMGs for metalheads like me, so I'm looking for something that can get some good crunch, but also has a decent clean channel.

My budget is a max of $600, so i'm thinking of a tube combo or something.

Effects are completely non- essential, but some nice overdrive would be awesome. wink.gif

Thanks

You can get the 2x12 for your budget your a 1x12 for pretty well under.

man.. great choice on guitar biggrin.gif tongue.gif if you really want a great heavey metal amp i recommend saving up and going with the KRANK Revolution! BEST AMP EVER IMHO.. if not peavey makes some good tube amps.. if your looking for a modelling amp Line 6 has some cool stuff.. same with Randell

for around that price you could have one of the Line 6 combo's like the Spider 112. Or Crate make some nice little combo's also. Marshall have the AVT line of amps which are around that price, you could maybe get the AVT275 combo and would still have enough left for a tubescreamer to kick your leads a little!!

+1-ValveKing Right On. I'd go the extra mile and go for the 2x12. I'd have a few regrets with the 1x12 in the long run.

i strongly recommend trying a bunch. smile.gif
good luck

Check out the Orange Tiny Teror Head. I am sure if you search you can find it for under $500, I bought mine for $400 New.

I don't know where you are located, but I could put you in contact with the place I bought mine from.

Then pick up an Epiphone 1x12 Cabinet loaded with an Eminence speaker for $125 total and for under $600 you will be in heaven.

Check out my Thread for a Video of the combo.
