Ok, so I have been on other forums where I have started this topic. It is quite interesting to see what other people's desktops look like.

If you need help figuring out how to take a picture of your desktop and then displaying it on this thread, send me a PM. I would be glad to help!

Rules:

• Keep the size down, we don't want your desktop taking up the whole page
• No nudity please, people take offense
• No Bashing anyone else's desktop
• No controversial issues as desktops(Example: No words praising one religion over another)
• Explain your desktop, if you want!

It is just a simple theme, black with Jimmy Page's infamous mark. I love Jimmy Page, so I enjoy looking at this background every time I turn my computer on!

Ok, here it is: as i have 2 monitors, 1 is the main Windows monitor and the other one is an extended desktop which is basically just a copy of background. Usually it's filled with ICQ windows, and Firefox - while the main one is used for work and studying - damn i love 2 monitors. Yesterday i was uploading a new lesson, also typing text explanations, while on the other monitor i had a huge chat session with 6 guys and i could always keep track of the chat without swapping through windows.

Kinda cluttered at the moment. The background is one I made, with the Playstation slogan, switched around for a much more dramatic effect. On the right are all my Sega-to-PSP ROMs, the rest is either games or something I don't want to look for in the future.

At Ayen: That's not the worst I have seen! In one of my previous topics, a guy had around 10,000 items on his desktop! He created a scrolling database on his desktop that let him manage all of them.

Yeah, I have to clear through this today, right now I'm just getting my ROMs to work on the PSP, and then getting the PSP screen to show up on the computer, and THEN I have a whole lot more to do .

Hey Pavel,

Since you have 2 monitors you should download "UltraMon." That way you can have a task bar on the second monitor, have separate wallpapers for each monitor, and even set it so that apps opened on the left monitor will minimize to the left task bar and vise versa.

Im on my Street Fighter days. I have a few game and movie ost which have some cool shred-esq songs.

long live Naruto. Haha where are you at when it comes to episodes? Are you following the Japanese or English(Toonami). I am in the new Shippuden episodes. Its making me mad because they release one 21 min episode every 2 weeks. Makes me cringe.

for me its only the 10 day trial which expired months ago so i dont play it and i never will again. guitar is 100 times more important to me than some game.

Thanks, bring back tons of memories. I like AKuma. He was just bada**. I would love to play those old 2d fighting games again. Anyone remember Marvel vs. Capcom? Great game. Hundreds of hours wasted playing that game with buddies.

Oh I gave up on the Anime. They were putting out filler episodes and thats all I had to watch (before Shippuden times). So, I dropped the anime altogether. I get freshly translated Manga the week the author puts it out in Japan. So, in terms of Naruto, I am as up to date as the Japanese people reading the manga. I actually prefer the Manga to the Anime!

Back when I had XP, I used Windows Blinds to transform every bit of interface I had. I had a Windows Vista style interface (with the glowing buttons on windows, the start button, the transparent black bar) long before Windows Vista came out. Windows Blinds is truly a great program!

Xp is a very solid and now reliable OS. I would not swap it for vista untill its matured ALOT!!

I'm pretty happy with XP at the mo - taken a while to get it that way but at the mo it's pretty solid. So cue impending date when MS stop support and patching for XP .

I agree about Vista. Vista has some good ideas but it needs a lot of work!





That is one of the reasons I start these threads! Some people have awesome applications, this thread helps get cool applications, such as RocketDock, out there to our community. It is really about helping each other find cool and interesting gadgets to put on our computers.

Yes i remember when i was working for a big firm and they fazed out Win 2k!! It is a shame they feel the need to phase out there Operating System support

VISTA looks great! But thats as far as it goes for now - maybe ill upgrade to it in a couple years.

I have this thing about "BLOATWARE" where companys relase software which hogs resources and does not make the most of hardware.

If you take a look at older Systems like the Commodore Amiga, you did not need to keep updateing hardware and operating systems because the programmers squeezed everything out of what you already had!!

My current PC is a few years old now, but i gaurentee it runs a hell of alot faster than a lot of pcs you buy from a store today. Why? Because when i install XP i remove every last useless service/process/application then fine tune the OS to make the most of my hardware!!

Grand, isn't it? I captured the entire essence of my lame wallpaper in a single pixel. Perhaps some explanation might be necessary: I run XP in classic mode and have turned off any bell or whistle to improve speed. I also have 0 (yes that's ZERO, not a hole in the forum) icons since each icon takes up resources, and a wallpaper even more. It's the curse of every serious gamer out there. woe to us.

Im a self help and motivation additct , so my desktop is a vision board , so I can see every day all the things I want. There you can see me happy with my girlfriend, with my family, you can see the cars and the motorcycle Im going to buy , you can see images that give me peace and joy. It is a great idea I recommend you to do it.

I used http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_6_infinite/for the background

and http://www.e-frontier.com/go/poserfor the figures.

There are cheaper options available for this sort of thing though, for instance Bryce 3d and Daz3d's free daz studio for figures. Its a lot of fun but extremely time consuming!

Yep, thats the one.

I didnt like the chubby look of the XP green or silver ones so I replaced them with it a while back. Still doesnt look as smooth as some of the Vista skins for Windowsblinds etc, but I couldnt be bothered wasting up Ram space with unecessary gizmo's that just make the pc look slightly cooler.

The alienware interfaces are free [including the object dock at the bottom where you can add shortcuts] Its very useful. You can also download an alien theme media player skin caled'invader' that looks great. Just Google AlienGUIse.

I hate icons so i use RocketDock, I usually have RocketDock on autohide but I didn't for the screen shot.
P.S. I hate Vista, I am running XP, I just made it look like Vista so it runs like XP but has all of the visual features Vista does.
