Here is a short review of the hotone soul press II. I used it on our STEVE VAI COLLAB a bit back. I love this thing. I have a wah built in on my ampero but I do like this one a bit better. As a bonus is can be a wah or volume or expression controller at the flick of a switch which is darn handy. They also added a 3 light LED system to show you where the pedal position is. They added a Q control as well to give control over the wah tone. Best of all it's a bit bigger than the first version. I loved the original but it was a pinch small under the foot. This one fits better.

Here is the link to it on their web site with more info.

Nice review! I've never tried a Hotone pedal, but I notice you speaking highly of them smile.gif I've also seen a few other videos about Hotone lately.

Looks a nice pedal, I'm thinking the wah/vol at the same time is a bit niche, maybe good for wah volume s well SBC36 I can't think of anything else, no doubt I'll be enlightened cool.gif

Hotone seem to be growing quickly, be interesting watching them develop.

On another note, I had a multi fx unit once, I think it was Korg and it had a bloody pressure pedal for the expression, it was awful, especially on carpet, it needed to be in the middle of the unit really because when it was pressed, the other end lifted, I always thought it was going to break.

Thanks for sharing. cool.gif

Thanks for checking it out! I really dig HOTONE. they make great gear that is not priced too high. I've been working with them for many years at this point. I started out just by contacting them and asking if they would send me some gear that I could review. smile.gif now it's an established relationship.

This one can be a wah, or a volume, or an expression pedal. thats part of what I dig about it smile.gif That and the handy LED indicator

In the review you said it could be wah and vol at the same time, I was wondering how useful that feature would be.

I have a Soul Press 1. I got it because I needed a mini wah/volume for a travel board.
The wah sounds great but the volume side of it doesn't have a good taper and also has a hard on/off as in it doesn't really ramp up from zero.

*I don't think it has the capability to do wah and vol at the same time, just within the same pedal.

Ah ... mine doesn't do that.
There's some uses for that. A tone change from dark to bright while you also increase/swell in volume. I actually do that sometimes using my guitar's volume knob and a wah pedal.

It's a neat feature smile.gif Its the first Vol/Wah in one that I've used. I do like that it's a bit bigger than the soul press version 1. the ramp up feels similar but with more control but its' a bit hard to tell for me if that's because its' just bigger and easier to control or if it's more sensitive and more fluid in terms of the response.

Watching subsequent vids it seems the wah/vol together option isn't really both FX at the same time.
It's that the pedal is always 'ON' and you toe down the stomp switch to make the switch from volume to wah-wah.

I probably should have been more clean on that in my video. Also, looking back I should have made a quick little shot of the foot and sound in each mode to make it more clear. I might need to do a longer one wink.gif
