Well. We are recording this song tomorrow. It's about my home town of Blackpool and what I think of it.

DESOLATE WASTELAND

Verse 1

Its been a while since I was told
The goings on in that abandoned home
It was a place once loved by all
Sounds of laughter and loud uproar but
Now nothings going on down the once great hall

Owhhhhhhh It just couldn't survive over time
The walls had been long since denied
Bar room brawls left the glasses smashed
and the Boarded up windows in a broken down town

Pre Chorus 1

Those were the days when we used to live
Our freedom was taken away
leaving a graveyard of waste, nobody could describe the way
A wave of chaos did destroy our streets leaving havoc in its place
If we could beg for forgiveness, a token of our existence may well grace us again

It may grace us again
If only they'd pray
our fortunes just may change

Chorus 1

Nothing feeds the air in a desolate wasteland
All the people try and break through
Make a name for themselves in the emptyness. Are you lonely now?
In a dungeon of hatred we live without light, struggling to survive

Verse 2

I wont be tamed by the death row living
I wont be stopped by no judge and jury
I cant be tamed in this rock and roll city
We can't be stopped by anything
The fear, the danger we laugh it all away

They're scared, petrified at the sight of
crumbling towers and broken homes
Explosives pepper the sky
There's nothing here now but selfishness
In the desolate wasteland we strive for life

Pre Chorus 2

Those were the days when we used to live
Our freedom was taken away
leaving a graveyard of waste, nobody could describe the way
A wave of chaos did destroy our streets leaving havoc in its place
If we could beg for forgiveness, a token of our existence may well disgrace us again.

It may disgrace us again
If only they could see
There actions just may change

Chorus 2

Nothing breathes the air in a desolate wasteland
All the people try and break through
Make a name for themselves in the emptyness. Are you lonely now?
In a dungeon of hatred
we live without light, struggling to survive

Verse 3

In a desolate wasteland
In a broken homeland
In a whirlwind of fire
In a desolate wasteland, we all long to die

Nope. The way i put it is a common english phrase. It does mean what is going on in that abandoned home but we from where i am from say it as the goings on in that abandoned home. And it is easier to sing that way for the song.

Plus somebody is telling us the goings on there. It isnt a question otherwise it would be what you said. smile.gif

These lyrics are part of a heavy rock song and part of my real band. I would love to have a virtual band but nobody wants me.

Its alright man. I dont think you would phrase it like that in usa so it was wise to bring it up. Its a very british way of speaking but hopefully you understand why it works well when we post song. smile.gif

This lyrical structure and the lyrics in general leave this open for some heavy riffage and brooding overtones. Good stuff, I think this is my favorite from you so far, Let us hear the finished recording when its all ready.
