GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Devil Axe

One week ago I finally picked my new guitar from foreign tax department ( and had to pay the damn tax mad.gif ).
First of all, I need to thanks Chris Evans, as he started a Schecter topic few months ago, and because of that I stumbled at this guitar on schecter site;)
It is Schecter Devil Custom, specs from their site are:
SCALE: Set-Neck w/ Ultra Access / 25.5”
BODY: Mahogany w/ Solid Burl Maple Top
NECK/FINGERBOARD: 3-pc Mahogany / Ebony
FRETS: 24 Jumbo
INLAYS: 'Devil Eye' at 12th
PICKUPS: Active EMG 81/85
ELECTRONICS: Vol/Vol/Tone/3-way switch
BRIDGE: TonePros Thru-Body
BINDING: Multi-ply (Neck & Headstock)
TUNERS: Grover
HARDWARE: Black Chrome
COLOR: Dark Amber Burst (DAB)

Here are two pictures I took few moments ago:

And a picture from Schecter
Must say that on producer photo, the guitar looks better than in reality, as it has more "redish" color, more "flame-like". In reality it is more as the name would suggest - Amber. But I love it anyway:)

I have no experience with different guitars, the only other guitar I know is my Ibanez RG370, and differences I noticed are that Ibanez neck is faster ( although not very much ), but it has lower sustain and that Devil has a bit deeper tone. Of course the different between Ibanez stock pickups and EMG's is hear able after first second, although I haven't learned how to use these still.

Here is my latest take on Lian's lesson, using the new guitar:

If someone has some thoughts/tips/anything about the guitar, I am eager to hear it:)

but it (Ibanez) has lower sustain and that Devil has a bit deeper tone.

That's all due to your Through Body Stringing!!! My 72 Thinline is like that and has awesome sustain!!!
Cool looking instrument Marek!!!!

You have no idea how much i want that...

Those in my color aren't easy to buy, as now they produce only red and green ones if I am correct. But as photos and reality differs quite much, I don't know if the red one would look even better.
