I wanted a 7 String for quite some time and now I scored one off Ebay!

It's a white Schecter C-7 hellraiser with coilsplittable EMGs and it's in like new condition, only a couple of months old!
Pictures will follow as soon as I get the guitar delivered...

I'm getting an 8 string guitar soon with active emg's, but I have never really heard how the active mics work on the lower tones. If you can, upload some takes so I can make an idea of it. Thanks wink.gif

I am broke once again now! laugh.gif

I really like the 707 emgs as they are sevenstring versions of the emg 85 with alnico pickups so they have a smoother and fatter tone compared to the emg 81 most people are playing.

I have also played several 8 String guitars (Esp ltd, Ibanez and Schecter) and all come with the Emg 808. Personally I think F# is just too low for a guitar, it just doesn't sound good to my ears anymore. I will leave those frequencies to the bass players, where they belong.

The Schecter 8 string sounds too bassy, the Ibanez Prestige out of basswood sounded best and the basswood ltd was just horrible! Absolutely NO note definition! The first 5 frets on the low F# sounded the same!

The guitar arrived finally! Here are the promised pics:

Built and wood quality are good, not top notch but better than other guitars from that price range.
Sadly the guitar came with some horribly cheap strings on it so I can't really say if it sounds good because the strings sound just awfull. I will need to order some 7 string ernie balls or buy a six strin elixir pack and a single 0.56 gauge string for the low b...

Looks great, I like the binding and the inlays! Among Schecters probably only the Jeff Loomis sig would beat this (I don't like the maple fretboard on it though), but for the price, this is the best offer. Great buy, hope it serves you well! cool.gif
