It's likely not your bass at all, but the wiring in your house, or perhaps ambient electronics. If you have a CRT monitor, try switching it off or getting an LCD; if you have fluorescent lights or dimmer switches on the same circuit try replacing those; try plugging the amp into an outlet on a different circuit. If all else fails, this little unit almost totally removed noise caused by the wiring in my house: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product...ator?sku=150450
They also have a version that you plug into the wall, and then plug your amp into that, but I didn't have much luck with that one. -------------------- I've slaughtered truth

I got a link from Bogdan the other day and this could be it.
http://www.audereaudio.com/FAQ_PUNoise.htm The only problem I have is: ""If a shield is installed but not connected to ground this will often increase the noise as opposed to decrease it so be sure to connect the shield to ground."" I'm taking the bass to the store tuesday and let the shopkeeper have a look at it.
