Yeh, any way of counting that helps you with rhythm placement is good imo. Just don't do it when you play a gig.

Actually, sometimes Bruce Dickinson (singer of iron maiden) does it. He shouts "one two three four"! Is that not to count in to the start of something though. Not too keep time. |

Actually, sometimes Bruce Dickinson (singer of iron maiden) does it. He shouts "one two three four"! Yeah that is a common singers trick to count in cool parts of the song and make it more interesting to audience and to anticipate a more drastic change in rhythm!
