Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Cool - I think this is a strategic choice of lesson for you: It is very straight forward rhythm wise and it's a good opportunity to focus on the pulse - which is what I commented on last time.
I would encourage you to keep doing this until you have developed a super steady foot tap. Even though this one does not have any difficult transitions - we can still slightly hear the same problem as earlier at 00:41 - right after that single note passage. Other this, your tone would benefit from a more relaxed right hand with slightly larger strumming movements. Over all this take offers a good listening experience with that little gaffe excepted - and your faster downpicking feels pretty tight. Well done - you get an 8 from me! |

Hi IceThrone!!
Nice guitar man.  This lesson is a very good choice to tighten your metal rhythm technique. The overall sound is very close here. You can play everything with the right timing which is not a small thing. The next elements to improve here are hands relaxation and palm muting sound. I can notice that your hands are still not comfortable playing this stuff, both hands look tense, and that's reflected in your groove and dynamics. I recommend you to watch your right hand movement and compare it with Ben's. Check how his up and down movement goes more relaxed from his wrist, and how this affects groove. In a similar way, it seems that you are pressing frets very hard when playing those power chords. Try to use less strength for this, and your hand will also feel smoother and more relaxed. The galloping section is lacking palm muting.
