Hello GMC'ers!
so recently i decided i would try harmonizing a major scale with different inversions on each string set, and its doing wonders for helping with chord changes, all around coordination, and knowledge of chords!
for example you can take the bottom set of strings, and harmonize a G-major scale with the first inversion of each chord, then try with second, then 3rd, etc.

Enjoy! smile.gif

Great exercise! And it can be expanded to all the different string sets, so 654, 543, 432, 321 to get those triads and inversions through the scale and across the entire fretboard. Great stuff!

Check out Matt's website for a visual of the drop 2 inversions. So you can learn these inversions, and then take any major scale and use them to harmonize it: )
