Hey guys! Just wanted to share a great present that I received from my most hard working Romanian student and a great friend - the bass player in Goodbye to Gravity. Basically, what they did, was re-orchestrating a Romanian gypsy song, that was originally written in a style called 'manele'. It's a sort of musical plague in my country, but the big surprise was that, when they re-orchestrated it, it started to sound truly awesome - the power of big guitars, drums and bass, eh?

It is pretty difficult to catch the subtleties behind this extremely well done joke, because you guys are not accustomed to the effect of the 'manele' music genre in here. Our Bulgarian neighbors call it 'turbofolk' laugh.gif They sing about how wealthy they are and the ease with which they spend money abroad at Saint Tropez laugh.gif

Check it out here: Manele Metal

The drum programming and bass were done by Alex - the bass player and all the guitars and orchestrations were realized by my student, of which I am incredibly proud - he never recorded and arranged something so complex as this piece.

They even gave themselves manele singer's names laugh.gif and ALSO made the DVD cover and called me Cosmin Katana the Romanian Samurai Check out the DVD covers:

Cool! I remember that when my grandpa gave me some old vinyl with Romanian music I imagined how cool some metal versions could sound. This confirms it.
