Well it took a long time, and a lot of research but today decided to finally do the best thing and get myself down to a guitar shop to try some out. - which I know sounds easy, but I have an anxiety disorder which makes it VERY difficult to get out that front door.

The reward is worth it though smile.gif Went in to my local second hand guitar shop and got to try a few amps out today and had an amazing find. During my research I'd heard of the DR Z amp range, and they got so much positive feedback I had to try it out. I love the sound of it more than anything I've ever played smile.gif So responsive and so clean! Fantastic EQ and a great "cut" dial which makes for a very versatile sound.

I've also heard they're great amps in regards to working well with effects pedals infront of it. No loop, but I'm not so fussed about that. It has a built in reverb which was very very tasty I have to say.

Its a DR Z MAZ jr 18 Watt with a matched 1x12 Cab, and I'm dying to get it home. Put a deposit on it for now, so shouldn't be long!

Very excited indeed biggrin.gif

Anyone had any experience with the DR Z range?

Here it is in Red, the one I've looking at is in cream white.

I will do definetly Ivan smile.gif I have an SM57 so should be able to upload some good clips, however I'm the first to admit that the equipment betters me by quite a bit! So I will have to grow into these pieces of kit, and you'll have to put up with some average guitar playing!

Sounds beautiful though smile.gif

I just put a deposit down so it's officially mine now!!

I paid £1095 in the end, which is a bit hefty but reasonable with the addition of the Cabinet. Plus it's recently been serviced and had the tubes replaced, and comes with a year warrantee minus a tube malfunction.

I decided that the switchblade would have been a great choice if I was looking at gigging in the future at some point, but for now my current situation means this isn't possible so wanted an amp that was low wattage with an excellent clean with a touch of versatility.

It has a great reputation for having a good relationship with overdrive pedals infront of it, so I should be able to get a good variety of sounds out of it!

Thanks for everyones previous advice on the forum, certainly helped in the decision process.

Might have to wait for sound clips after christmas, as it looks like my parents want to put a small amount towards the amp for then.

I'll put something up soon after though smile.gif
