Hey Matt, Well, it refers to the late 70's and Early 80's when several Japanese Manufacturers were threatened with 'Copyright Lawsuits' by both Fender and Gibson for producing copies of various models that were exact in every detail, except that a lot of the time the Jap copies were of a far better quality than their American counterparts! These things are getting quite collectible now!! judging by the interest looks like you'll be able to read up on it when I've written the Article!!!
