GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ I Felt This Was A Good Day!

Posted by: mhskeide Feb 24 2009, 01:00 AM

Some of may have seen some of my posts the last weeks regarding a new guitar. Today I went to discuss with my local luthier...but ended up buying myself a real treat, see for yourself smile.gif
The guitar is an Ibanez S classic custom! It plays like a dream, and looks like a wet dream. I don`t know the exact specs(if someone knows, please tell tongue.gif ), but I`m pretty sure the body is mahogny, the neck is maple and I believe the fretboard is ebony(edit rolleyes.gif: ) and the pickups are Ibc V6 in both neck and bridge.
enough talk, have a look smile.gif

Yeah, after I posted I compared my guitars. The fretboard looked a lot more like my Carvin, which is ebony than my other Ibanez. Love the tone I get out of it biggrin.gif

that guitar was part of a limited production,

one of the only S series (aside from the prestiges today, and the S's from 1990-1999) that were made in japan,

you get some of the best quality....the neck is a little weird and short compared to others...if i remember right the scale is at 21.something but i could be wrong (i know its less than 24.5)

they ran anywhere from $500-1200 new, yours was the highest end model.

congrats! you got a nice rare guitar there

I bought it private from the owner of a shop biggrin.gif (Nakken musikk if you were curious, best shop in town smile.gif )

I have some recording gear...but just Sequal as guitar processor. I`ll rather record some with a cam while playing directly in my amp smile.gif

Aaah, nice with a confirmation that this truly is GOOD biggrin.gif
The neck is a little more C-shaped than other Ibanez` necks, and it`s definitely shorter. I don`t know how to measure the scale..but there is 18" between start of first fret - end of last fret.

And thanks a lot btw smile.gif
