I often have to go and do some foundational work on technique to go forward, as that is usually where the problem lies, especially for the self taught, you skip some steps that didn't seem important at the time, but have to revisit them as they hindering progression

I think it is more likely that limitations do create a players unique Style, in terms of phrasing, note choice etc more than what we excell at

This is the main reason why we use to lose motivation... these backwards steps can be very frustrating, and that's when we have to be intelligent and keep going, and remember those things that keeps up motivated and moving. Nice quote Ben.
