Yes yes yes biggrin.gif 2012 is just around the corner and I was thinking of what I shall improve/ develop in my playing and what shall I create!

I tried to set musical goals for the first 3 months of 2012, so that I would have a final result which can be palpable, so here we go:

- Participate in the Guitar Idol Competition (meaning an outstanding composition)
- Re-orchestrate these songs until the end of March:

This is what I thought of until now smile.gif but the list shall grow in the following days!

What about you? What do you have in mind for your musical development in 2012?

Develop a solid Technique is my main goal, I heard a quote a while ago and I think it was from Todd .... Perfectly sums up my musical mindset....

"Your musical expression should not be limited by your technical ability"....well, that's plan anyway...

Technique + Theory = Me being able to play what i hear in my head.

And I'd like to learn a Dream Theatre song.... Andy Timmons is still a few years away I think unsure.gif

For me it is more technique training. I've made some great improvements when it comes to AP, so I wanna develop that technique further. Legato is a weak spot, but with the help of Ben's lessons I will work on that.
I will create more student instructor lessons, this should be a great composing exercise. And I will write more own songs and will finally record vocals for them. So learning to sing is another goal for me in 2012.

I've got the 1st dvd, which is really just a basic singing course. I think the 2nd one goes into the screaming.

I will be financing my new pc and getting into some serious practice and writing in 2012 and singing lessons to improve what I got.

Those are really good goals Cosmin! I would also like to participate in the Guitar Idol! I hope to find time. My priority for this year is to compose a new Cirse's album. At the same time I want to continue evolving my guitar playing (technique & improvisation).

2012 should be full of work no doubt, my goal is to continue with the good practice routine I'm starting to feel a lot better and more confident in my playing. There is a solo album that I started working on, it will be a blues album. I hope I will find bandmates for this band by the end of the year (no rush). During that time, I'm working in two bands, one of them has album live just couple of weeks ago, and in the other we are working hard to finalize songs for the album. I wish I could say it's all doable in 6 months, but time will tell smile.gif
