GMC Forum _ Uploads _ Female Vocals Wanted

Posted by: Ulrik Aug 30 2010, 06:59 PM

So a long long time ago, I was joking with one of my friends, that we should make a band.
He doesn't play music, so he wanted to write some lyrics. And so he did.
I promised to make the music. And so I did, with some small alterations of his original lyrics.

It's some kind of medieval-fantasy story from a Tolkien kind of universe I imagine.

We've got our hero who sets out to take some kind of revenge on his enemy,
and his lady love misses him and is miserable.
But then his enemy kills him, maybe they both die in the battle.
Off course sorrow kills the fair maiden too, and they are burried together... but their love goes on

The lyrics are as follows:

BENEATH THE MOONLIT ORB

Intro
A hero rose from the darkness deep
ready and willing to claim his right
A path of justice lone and steep
awaited his eager step(s)

Chorous
Where are you now my finest one
thy abscence tears my soul
Beneath the moonlit orb we'll meet
and share eternity

Verse
He listened only to the voice of glory
sweet music filled his ears
He was given no choice his foe awaited
to make the final stand

Chorous
What path have thou trod, I am yours
Tears deprived of hope
Beneath the moonlit orb we'll meet
and share eternity

Verse
A tower of metal fire and fear
A hammer of icy steel
His fate was sealed he spilled no tear
No elegy would do him just

Chorous
At last their paths were joined in death
He was laid to rest by her side
Beneath the moonlit orb they'll meet
and share eternity
and share eternity

It's a quite simple melody. I tried with some galloping and stuff, but simple chords worked out best.
For this to be perfect I need better drum software (I used Tuxguitar)
I also need to put in a guitar solo in the end.
I need a bass too.
And maybe I need someone to do the male lyrics too, I'm no singer, not a very masculine voice, a lousy microphone, maybe it's just in a bad key rolleyes.gif

But most of all I need a girl to sing the 3xchorous.

It only works as a duet in my oppinion.
Can any one help me, send me a recording, and I will mix it, with my not so fancy software.
Just try and sing it like I do, but in a full operaish femalish voice

I hope someone is up for it.

I can upload just the melody if it is preferred

Write here if you are up for the challenge

Thank you !

EDIT: I removed the file as I got no response, but it will be here when done

I tried that too in my first version a while ago, but I guess "parody" was the best description.

..maybe you know a girl who wants to sing, it doesn't have to be pro

Well its not super high realism. But I have a vocal synthesizer program called Vocaloid LOLA which emulates a female voice, and it does pretty good at it once you mix it in correctly. Here is what I am talking about, two sections from a song of mine which use this program quite extenisvely.

Here are the lyrics, so you know what she is saying and what I can make her say.

 DOL_LOLA.mp3 ( 4.5MB ) : 175

Born into an amnesiac state
Awakened by the sharpest pain
Tearful eyes see nothing around
Attentive ears hear violence beyond

Ripping needles from his flesh
Drowning in a river of blood
Running through a tunnel of white
Stumbling into the darkness

....

Floating nowhere in the void
Drifting to uncertatin fates
The sky beckons us to see
Its final days of grace

Churning malestrom in the sky
Shattered lands seen from space
Our mother ignites her soul
Her last breath is exhaled

If you send me the song I can mix in the voice, and if you tell me what kind of effects you want I can add those in as well. Also, If you could send me the melody that would help. I have to mix LOLA syllable by syllable so more information helps. But if this is not to your liking that is fine as well.

Nah, it's a bit hard to hear, and I want it to be very clear what is sung. But thanks anyway, maybe it can be used for something else in another project.

For this song, it would be fun if someone in here could sing it, just for fun.
There must be 1 or 2 girls who could do it wink.gif

Well, It doesn't have to be amazing.
I asked my girlfriend, but she kind of managed to avoid it this weekend.

So I'm just looking for someone in here, who would think it was fun.

If not I'll ask another friend later this week.

So much easier than my wife blink.gif

Only bit I understand normally is that I am always wrong.

Siempre, siempre, siempre.

Yeah I know the audio is recovered from a crashed hard drive so its kind of on the low-distorted side.
