So today is the day where Metallica's New Album waiting in the store's.

I bought it and i think i need more time to like it:) But what i can say after listen to it the first time i don't like the Style of the lyrics. This Staccato style in nearly all songs make me sick:) I think you know what i mean.

Examples: Luck. Runs. Out. or Show your Scars or They Scratch me, They Scrape me, They Cut an Rape me.

Why Hetfield write lyrics like that and not like Santarium or the early days.

But the rest is good at the moment:)

I've had a few listens to it, and in my opinion it's ok..
It's not something great, not bad at all, but quite boring a few times.
Some riffs and songs are cool, but it lacks something.
I can't put my finger on it but I had hoped for more smile.gif

Still, much better than their last effort smile.gif

For some reason, I don't like James voice...Unforgiven III destroyed my views from the previous unforgiven's, I think they made a new music and just named it unforgiven III for people to buy it and try to follow some sort of a story. It's better than St.Anger, but still, good thing I didn't buy it...My crazy metallica fan Carlos did laugh.gif

Funny. The Unforgiven 3 is one of the songs i really like on this Album. James stop to sing the Staccato Style and i think it sounds really good, but i think it has nothing to do with the other two Unforgiven songs.

I would say that this album is fairly average. But considering that St Anger was, in my opinion, one of the worst albums ever released I guess this is an improvement.

I actually quite like it to be honest, I'm not saying its the best of '08 or the best ever or whatever. But it was enjoyable to listen to, Sound somewhat like "...And Justice For All" a little to me.

I'm a big Metallica fan aswell, and I must say I love this album. I've listened to it twice through so far!! My favourite song at the moment has to be Cyanide.

It's definatley not better than Master Of Puppets, Black Album and the earlier ones. Metallica can never get back to 'old metallica' they are now 'modern metallica'. I'm pleased Lars took out that awful snare sound he had on St. Anger.

I'm definatley pleased with this album. I love it!

I really like the album, but the lyrics are just childishly written.

I mostly like it but I haven't had a chance to listen really hard yet.

I love that stuttering riff on Broken Beat & Scarred. I mean, I really, really love that riff.

While the song is OK, just the idea of there being Unforgiven III bugs me. Unforgiven I and II were bad enough.

There's a lot of good ideas in the album, I think. It seemed that they made up their mind to have long songs and for a couple songs could have been a lot better if they cut them down a bit (The Day that Never Comes comes to mind).

I expected to be blown away. I don't think I was so I'm a little disappointed. It's a lot better than Load, Reload, and St Anger though. There's some good stuff there though. It raises even more expectations for the next album.

I like it, not all songs, but I consider worth buying if you are the Old Metallica fan, they kind of have the sound of ...And Justice for All, sound has definitely improved, I don't know what they tried to do with St. Anger I couldn't stand the mix and production of the album. On this one even though the sound is raw and dry, it sounds much better. I agree that the lyrics are not the best, James used to write deep lyrics, they were dark but I liked them, I guess I am dark too.

Ehhhh....

It's ok.

Better than St Anger. But is that the bar that should be set for a band like Metallica? All over the web we read peoples comments on this album. And the common denominator seems to be "It doesnt suck" and "Better than St Anger". Those arent high marks.

Some bands have 1 good album in them.

Some have 10.

Metallica had 5.

In today's music scene Metallica aren't leading the charge. They're being passed by the likes of Lamb of God, Trivium, Shadows Fall and others. And there isn't anything wrong with that. Rarely does a band stay on its A game for more than 2 albums.

Don't settle for a mediocre album with a recognizeable brand name on it. Dig and discover a band you havent heard of yet and find your next Metallica.

Us old timers like myself feel this is where the band made the shift from greatness to mediocre.
I love metal but this new stuff Metallica has been putting out just doesn't compare with a lot of newer acts out there.

In the mean time a band I thought that came back strong was "Testament:Formation of Damnation"
For a bunch of old timers they still know their sound.

Not that Im dissing Metallica, Im just done with them.

The new album is great! Some songs even sound a lil' bit like AJFA! smile.gif Just with other lyrics. I think one shoud listen to it a few times before judging the whole album. Metallica-songs always get better after hearing them many times.

Not for me.

I shouldnt have to make myself like something.
