Well, i dont find here that attractive, not as much as Tarja Turunen, or Annete Olzen, but i do love her voice, if her voice was missing from WT, I would cry.

To each his own though smile.gif

Yeah a male voice would sound better for that music, or just not her. She doesn't seem to be very into the music.

QUOTE (Otto @ Aug 25 2007, 07:47 PM) *
its live

I'm not saying she sucks in singing, i'm just saying that to my liking i would prefer male vocals.

Now onto the important part...maybe a bit off-topic:

That's exactly what i am listening to when judging the band: if the band plays good live, and singer sings good - than the band is great. If the band is good only on studio records than it sucks. DragonForce are great in studio records but live they are 100% noobs.

Kamelot are awesome live, Rhapsody are unbelievable live, Blind Guardian play like a 100% studio record when they play live. It means if they can play LIVE than studio record will be twice as good.

Recording in studio gives you unlimited amount of takes. Live - you only have 1 shot to make it right.

This is again turning into "i prefer this...i prefer that" thing, but live concerts are best to judge the quality of the band. smile.gif

you might be surprised how good Dragonforce can play live, all the videos on youtube dont do them justice. They are all amazing musicians, and Herman and Sam can actually play as good live as the studio, BUT....Since they like to drink quite a bit before they go on stage, it hinders there performance sometimes, the show i saw was quite amazing, the solos were dead on, but other times, i wish they would grow up and quit the "im gonna get wasted before every show" thing, ya know.

But yeah, Rhapsody and Blind Guardian, good god they can play anything they want live, i love how Rhapsody has all those orchestra sound and still they get it to sound perfect live, they are just amazing.

As with Slayer, Kerry King is absolute crap when he is wasted and it makes a bad show, they have the rest of the night to get trashed it is their job to give their best performance.

Dragonforce might be good guitarists but they play video game music at hyperspeed! wink.gif no thanks

I'm sorry - but acting like DragonForce does is noobish! If a band plays live - they do it for people - and people expect them to play for real. So 1 good out of 100 bad shows - you must have been lucky catching them without alcohol in blood! smile.gif

Btw. Rhapsody style lesson is on the way, already did a backing track and will record it tomorrow! It will be plain riffing stuff but with a good dose of arrangements! smile.gif

Something like "Thunders Mighty Roar" verse, but more melodic and will also have some of my own elements in it! I hope you're gonna like it!

I love this band !!! Guitar players aren's a virtuosos, but their sound is really good, with lot of power, and the singer (Sharon or Shanon I can't remember) have a great voice... in my opinion of course.

Nowadays I have a band and Within is one of our influences (I also like Dream Theater, Maiden, and lot of metal bands and OST composers), and our singer is a true Within Temptation fan !! biggrin.gif
